Mens Fashion: Work and Personal (from office to concert without changing!)

Guys can wear anything, right? Well, not quite. Most people have a specific office attire that they have to wear, but business casual is the perfect “everything” dress.  If you’re going out after work and don’t have time to change simply being dressed for both occasions is perfect. But with two such different venues how can you make an outfit work for both?

Dress Down

Most offices don’t need you to wear a suit so take advantage of this by having a t shirt under your regular button up. You can then take off the button up to wear the shirt under the jacket alone without looking like you’re too casual. Alternatively, simply unbuttoning the top shirt button and losing a tie if you’re forced to wear one can make it seem less smart. Choose a brighter color suit like a light blue to look more casual.

The Blazer

A blazer helps you get away with dressing up a casual outfit. Whether you’re just in a “chill” office with no dress code, or you’re going out somewhere fancier than usual the blazer can jazz up a casual outfit. Pick boots or loafers rather than sneakers to make sure you’re getting in the door and a blue denim to seem smart/casual rather than too casual. Derby shoes and washed denim is a great combo.

Oxford Shirt

An oxford shirt is the ideal office to club. It’s smart enough to tuck in at work, then pull out for relaxing. Match this with a dress down outfit and you’re good to go. Add a blazer or suit jacket to smarten it up or ditch the jacket completely for super casual.

Utter Casual

If you’re heading to a dive or really trying to dress down there’s probably no alternative but to change. Put a t-shirt under your work shirt and bring a bag with some jeans you can leave in the office with your other clothes if you don’t want to bring them with.
